Photo by Martin Raanhuis After a successful tour in 2024 with Ektomorf, TerraDown will embark on yet another European tour, this time supporting British metal veterans Cradle of Filth. Vocalist Nick Brouwer and drummer Boudewijn Lamper sat down to discuss TerraDown's upcoming journey and future plans.
"We're very excited to be able to return to Germany again, where we've been received with so much enthusiasm last year. That tour was one of our most memorable moments with TerraDown.” Lamper starts. “The Germans really made us feel like we belonged there, so it's great that we get to go back to that country to perform there again."
Frontman Nick Brouwer smiles and nods heavily in acknowledgement. “That’s why we want to go back, hit the road again and create our next memorable moments with everyone we’re going to meet during this tour”, he adds. “This will be the very first time that we play in Austria, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary. We know that the love for metal is enormous over there and we want to experience that love for ourselves.’’
The two reflect on the preparations they made and are currently making. “Unlike last time we’re driving ourselves from venue to venue, literally touring through all over Europe, not knowing where we might end up for the night. The real ‘Tour-experience’”, both laugh as Nick mimics a commercial slogan from the 80’s. “It will be awful, it will be great, it will be terrible, but also fantastic. All at the same time. It’s going to be one enormous adventure we’ve all been dreaming about!”.
TerraDown will support Cradle of Filth's ‘Summoned in Summer' tour alongside Brazilian thrash metal band Nervosa on selected dates throughout June and July in support of CoF's latest album The Screaming of the Valkyries. In addition to these support shows TerraDown will co-host three concerts with STELLVRIS in Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium.
For these concerts, TerraDown needed to step up their game and spend a lot of effort to write and record new singles, as well as a new album for 2026. Boudewijn explains: "After our European shows with Ektomorf last year, we felt that we needed to come back and write new material that represents who we are as a band at that moment. We learned and grew a lot during that tour. As individuals, but also as a collective.” Since the tour in March 2024 TerraDown has released four new singles and recorded their second full length album.
“With those single releases we are preparing everyone for what is coming, because we need to show the people what they can expect to hear from us when they’ll see us for the first time”, the drummer continues. “During our shows we might even play a few unreleased songs from the future album. As the unknown opener for the shows, we need to be at our best and also play music that will leave an impact. We're proud of our new material and are eager to hype up the crowds with it."
Besides playing new songs, the band will also give the songs that haven't been physically
released yet the credit they deserve. An exclusive album ‘Accept Your Fate’ will be sold on tour, consisting of the songs previously released on their 2023 Checkmate EP and all singles that have been released since then. Enveloped in a new, handmade design that symbolises the aspects of all the songs and accompanied with a brand new T-shirt from the same designer, Floor Dirkx, TerraDown is ready for their next journey.
